WATER PROJECT
Aven Town
Patani LGA Delta State
In the quiet town of Aven, deep in the heart of Patani LGA, the villagers had long struggled with a lack of clean water. Children walked miles to fetch water from a distant, murky stream, and sickness was a frequent visitor.
Then, on July 9, 2019, everything changed. A group of volunteers arrived (Ijaw Women of America), bringing with them hope in the form of a water project. With determination, they dug deep, laying pipes and installing a borehole that would provide fresh, clean water for generations to come.
As the first drop of crystal-clear water gushed from the tap, the entire village erupted in joy. Children laughed, elders shed tears of gratitude, and the town’s chief declared it a day of new beginnings.
Epelleama Town Opobo/Nkoro LGA Rivers State
In the riverside town of Epelleama, nestled within Opobo/Nkoro LGA of Rivers State, clean drinking water was a luxury many could not afford. The community relied on rainwater and distant streams, but during the dry season, water scarcity became a harsh reality.
Then, on June 18, 2019, hope arrived. A team of engineers and volunteers (Ijaw Women of America), determined to change lives, launched a water project that would forever transform Epelleama. With each turn of the drill, anticipation grew. Would this be the day their prayers were answered?
When the first rush of clean water burst from the newly installed borehole, a wave of joy swept through the town. Women danced, children splashed in the fresh water, and elders lifted their voices in gratitude. For the first time, Epelleama had a reliable source of clean water, a gift that would sustain generations.

Water is the source of life. Without water we perish. We drink water, we bath with water, we use water to cook, and we use water to wash our belongings..
